1.  Dune by Frank Herbert.  I am an unabashed fanboy for the Dune Sextet created by Frank Herbert.  The world building is second to none and the intricacies of the plot are mind blowing.  This Hugo Award winning book is definitely in my number one position.

2.. The remainder of the Dune Sextet by Frank Herbert.  The remainder of the Dune Sextet include the following:  Dune Messiah, Children of Dune, God Emperor of Dune, Heretics of Dune, and Chapterhouse: Dune.  Even though I consider Dune to be the best novel in the sextet, the final five books are equally amazing as the original.

3.  Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.  This futuristic novel is one of the first examples of dystopian literature and is an amazing glimpse into a futuristic earth where firemen burn books in order to suppress the ideas contained within them.  What book lover would not love this novel?

4.  Ready Player One by Ernest Cline.  I read this highly entertaining novel in 2014 and was amazed at all of the 1980s pop culture references it contained.

5.  Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card.  If you have yet to read this book, do so quickly and prepare yourself for the unbelievable ending.

Happy Reading,

Joseph
